Lagree in Hong Kong:: Your guide to H-Kore Quarry Bay

One weekly class across Lagree, Strength and Conditioning for Privilee Members

H-Kore brings Lagree, Strength and Conditioning together under one roof in Quarry Bay. One week might call for slow, controlled work on the Megaformer. The next, heavier lifts or cardio intervals.

Privilee Members receive one complimentary class per week across Lagree, Strength and Conditioning at H-Kore Quarry Bay. Classes open for booking three days in advance through the Privilee app.

Privilee access applies to the Quarry Bay studio only and does not include H-Kore Central or pop-up events.

Meet H-Kore Quarry Bay

H-Kore Quarry Bay is located inside Dorset House at Taikoo Place, a short walk from Quarry Bay MTR station.

The bright, spacious studio has two dedicated fitness rooms. One is home to MegaKore, H-Kore’s Lagree programme, while the other hosts its Strength and Conditioning classes.

That split gives you more than one way to use your weekly visit. Book Lagree when you want full-body resistance work without high impact. Choose Strength when you want to focus on lifting, or Conditioning when you want to work on cardio and endurance.

Classes are taught in small groups, giving instructors room to offer guidance and adapt the workout to different levels.

What is Lagree?

H-Kore describes itself as Hong Kong’s only Lagree studio. Its signature classes take place on the Megaformer, a machine that uses a moving carriage, springs, straps and platforms to create resistance.

Although the Megaformer can look similar to a Pilates reformer, Lagree has a different training style. Movements are performed slowly to keep the muscles working under tension, with strength, cardio and core work built into the same 45-minute class.

Expect controlled movements, long holds and the shakes H-Kore is known for. Removing momentum makes familiar exercises feel very different, with each repetition asking more of your strength and stability.

The workout is high intensity but low impact, making it a useful option when you want a challenging session without jumping or fast, repetitive movements.

Start with Lagree Basics

If the Megaformer is new to you, Lagree Basics is the place to begin.

The 45-minute class moves at a slower pace and breaks down the names, positions and techniques used across H-Kore’s Lagree sessions. You still get a full workout, but with more time to understand the machine and build confidence in each movement.

Some Lagree Basics sessions are taught in English with additional Cantonese cues. Check the class description in the Privilee app before booking to find the right session for you.

Once you feel comfortable on the Megaformer, move into a signature Lagree class for a faster transition between exercises and a greater endurance challenge.

Build strength in a small group

H-Kore’s Strength class takes you away from the Megaformer and onto the training floor.

These 45-minute sessions use dumbbells, kettlebells and barbells to build full-body strength. The focus is on technique, core stability and lifting at a level that works for you.

If you are new to strength training, the coach can help you understand the movements and choose a suitable load. If you already lift, the class gives you a structured session with guidance on form and progression.

It is a strong choice when you want the direction of a class without losing the focus of a strength workout.

Work on your engine with Conditioning

Conditioning is H-Kore’s cardio-focused class, combining intervals on the bike, rower and SkiErg with bodyweight movements and lighter weights.

Each 45-minute session is designed to develop cardiovascular endurance and work capacity. You work through an interval, take a short recovery and go again, with exercises scaled to your current level.

There is no heavy lifting and no Megaformer. The class has its own role in the schedule, making it a useful match for Lagree or Strength across different weeks.

Book it when you want to raise your heart rate, work through varied equipment and finish feeling like you have put in the work.

Who will love it here?

H-Kore works well if you like classes with a clear training purpose but do not want to repeat the same style every week.

Lagree gives you controlled resistance and full-body muscular endurance. Strength puts the focus on lifting and technique. Conditioning brings cardio intervals into the mix.

Beginners can start with Lagree Basics or work at their own level in Strength and Conditioning, while more experienced Members can use the classes to complement gym training, running or another regular programme.

The coaches are there to help you understand the movements and adjust the session to your level, so you do not need previous Lagree or lifting experience to get started.

A studio set up for the working day

The Quarry Bay location makes H-Kore a useful option before work, during a longer lunch break or on the way home.

Male and female changing rooms include hot showers, lockers, towels, hairdryers and toiletries, so you can fit a class around the rest of your plans without bringing half the bathroom with you.

The studio is inside Dorset House at Taikoo Place. As H-Kore also has a Central location, check that you have selected Quarry Bay before booking through Privilee.
